Default What is the point in upgrading my front brakes to

13 inch rotors, that isn't much bigger than stock right??? Both Brembo, Stoptech and assorted other speed shops offer 13" kits, but other than reduce the unsprung weight, the after market "high performance" brake upgrades can't do much to prevent fading or increase brake torque much becuase they are ever so slightly bigger.

I am kinda of coming to the conclusion that I am my only option is to spend the extra dough for 14" with the right 18" rims and tires, which is gonna set me back 5-6K, but I guess it is better than dropping just over 2K and getting no incresed performance and I still have to look at those stock wheels. Am I the only one that has come to this conclusion?

It is too bad the S4 is such a heavy tank, if it weighed a little less the stock brakes might cut it.

Signed

Default main diff is that Stoptech's for example can handle the high temps

that your stocks CAN"T, I went through my stockers in 2 track days as a stock car. the pads overheat and chunk and my rotor's looked like an old 45' record they were so warped,

brake upgrades also reduce unsprung weight which is KEY!

Stainless steel brakelines give you better pedal feel and tighter response.

Slotted, ventalated, and cross drilled dissapate the heat quicker, the list goes on.

if you do any sort of club, track, autox you will see that your stock brakes will go bu bye! asap.

it's worth it.

email me with ?'s

Default are YOU INSANE?

they DO increase the resistance to fade

who has faded 13" Brembo's or AP's or StopTechs??

do you know something everyone else doesn't

14" are NOT mandatory

the increased rotor size is only part of the benefit

better internal vane design and a 2 piece rotor and hat are what prevent warpage of the rotor

Frank's right. The factory rotors are the problem in the equation.
