What a porker the new 2008 R32 is. Heavier than my S4 at 3,547 lbs.
At the scales at the strip, with me in it my car weighed 3,619 with 1.4 tank of gas. Without me, my S4 would come in at 3,419 lbs (light brakes, wheels and no front sway bar are the extent of my lightening mods) that's a full hundred lbs lighter than the R32.
I'll pass big time - especially since it starts at $33,600. With the purhcase of my 01.5 S, upgrades to stage 3, brakes, suspension, etc... I'm probably right there with total dollars spent but have double the HP, less weight, two more doors, less depreciation in value and a better crash test rating to boot.
