Default What is wrong epc cel light

When I turn the key to on and do NOT start the car, the battery, EPC and CEL light come on and stay on. The airbag light comes and leaves. I cleared all code from DTC and no new codes come.

Default ................? Are you experiencing any driveability problems? Or is it just the lights?

Looking for a problem? It really sounds like there's nothing wrong. What happens to the EPC and CEL lights when you start the engine? Everything runs, accelerates, drives, stops, & restarts ok, right?

Be careful you don't go into the central locking control unit & check DTC's there, you'll be asking all sorts of questions!

Default Re: I wish the car started. It does start, doesn't even crank

Ok. Sorry then.

What kind of damage are we talking? Front end, engine damage? By the looks of it, the ECU is seeing conflicting data from the cam sensors & crank position sensor. I'd line up the crank & make sure the cam pulleys are lined up first. From there, look into the cam position sensor connections, clear dtc's, check output diagnostics, and go from there. Also check wiring, ground locations under the hood, & starter wiring.

Tough call, being in an accident. Again, sorry.

Default It was in a accident, how do i line up

Thanks for all the help, question how do I line up the crank & make sure the cam pulleys are lined up first. If you can point me a page in the service manual, that would help out. Thanks again. This is a big learning experience. Also my ECU had the following:
17748 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) / Engine Speed Sensor (G28): Incor. Correlation
16725 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): Implausible Signal

Default This picture isn't the greatest, but.....

here ya go. When you have the crank pulley lined up, the cam gear pin plates should be horizontal. Good enough explanation?

Default Crank pulley is a 24mm 12 point socket. You'll need to pull the front clip unless.....

you modify a socket by cutting it in 1/2. You'll need to do that to get it & a rachet onto the crank bolt, and get it by the fan assemblies & stuff. You'll also need to take off the upper timing belt covers enough to see the cam pin plates too though. Might be a lot of trouble, depends on your skill level, tools, & experience.

Default Went out and bought the tools

Two quick questions, I assume the crank shaft is on the drivers side, can I do this check without removing the radiador. And second, if I find they are not in line is it easy to fix or is it a dealer thing?
Thanks again for all the help
