What year did the S4 first come to the US? My frient told me 2000, is this true?
yesh..late 1999 deliveries, of 2000MY cars
Aren't we forgetting the UrS4? ;-)
And the first S4 on the board was delivered in mid September, 1999.
Seems like many aren't aware of the 92-94s
he said S4, Not UrS4...
For the biturbo, yes.
he said: "what year did the S4 first come to the U.S."... in that case July, 1991 titled as a 1992.
I've noticed that quite a bit with new S4 owners...
i've actually had multiple cases where people in MY2000-01 S4 waived me over into a parking lot or side street to look at my car, and had no idea there was a previous generation S4...

he didn't say AN S4 ..he said THE S4..which to me, means the current B5 S4

which syllable/word exactly are you struggling with in "what year did the S4 first come to the US?"
Seems to me he/she has asked a simple enough question as succinctly as possible. And while I'll be the first to admit it could be he/she does, in fact, want to know when the current edition S4 was first available, the bottom line remains... it is NOT what he/she asked. The question, as asked, leaves little room for debate or any other interpretation.
Would be nice if he/she explained exactly what they meant if their meaning was other than what was posted. In lieu of that however there can only be one correct answer to the question as written. The S4 "first came to the US" in 7/91 titled as a 1992 model year. Now that may or may not be the answer this person is seeking. But it IS the only valid/correct answer to their specific question. |
