Default whats the deal with actual vs. speedo speed on the s4's?

i always thought cars were underated from the factory. i.e. when it says you ar going 65 you are really going 63 or something like that.

according to the rpm vs gear calculator on Mark P's website its quite the opposite.

My S4 speedo is spot on, when compared to radar speed-limit signs.

Default yeah i figured that

i just assumed that cars came "slow" from the factory. the percentage changes from car to car. i didnt think audi would make our cars "faster" than they are. otherwise 5 over would be 7-8-9 over and ticket worthy.

Varies with tire size (rolling diameter).

Default German law states that no automobile speedometer will post a MPH lower than actual.

I saw a TV show on this & the German cars did the worst & a Chevy Caviler did the best. The show was trying to compare the MSRP to the accuracy of the equipment (speedo).

The German DOT law was the problem for BMW, Audi & VW w/ the speedo, there are so many different wheel & tire combo's possible that the auto manuf. need to take all into account when calibrating.
