What's the fastest you've ever taken a 90 degree turn?
Yesterday, I finally made my tires chirp! However, I still have not made the ESP come on. I was coming up to a right turn at about 30mph. But due to traffic on the street I was driving on and the street I was turning on I could not take the turn "wide." So I took the turn at 30mph and got some tire chirps! I imagine at 35mph or 40mph ESP may come on to save my ***. There's a three lane road by my house I can experiment on really late at night. I've been putting a considerable amount of wear on my tires from high speed turns since I got this car so I might wait on doing that for a while.

It depends(more)
The speed is depends on several elements,
first, the tire (more friction more speed)
second, the radius ( more radius more speed)
the formula is: Friction=force toward the center
friction=u*n, force=m * a=mass * v^2/radius
so the v=sqrt(u*n*radius/mass)

I did a 1:24:2...don't actually know what the speed was in turn 1. This pic is Riverside though...I don't have any photos of dialing the F-Russell cars (now Star Mazda) at Willow.

Re: Sand always screws me up. Those damn variables! That's why I kissed a curb last month.
The presence of sand/water/light oil on a well traveled road after a light rain (causes the oil to rise a little on the road making it very slippery) probably drops the coefficient of friction on the road down significantly. I usually don't turn at high speeds when the roads are like this...it's best to do this in an open parking lot very late at night.
