What's going on here?
OK, I'm really confused. Lots of people are blowing the TBB, several people have had turbos replaced, etc, etc. Even several STOCK cars have had turbos replaced, leading me to suspect that it will continue to happen.
I read that there are NO problems with european S4s blowing the boot or needing new turbos... even chipped cars. Can anyone substantiate this claim?
Now, I was under the impression that the euro S4 and US S4 shared the same engine, except for the euro S4 having an additional oil cooler strapped to the front of the radiator. Other than that, I thought they were _identical_.
So, what's the deal? Why are US cars failing and euro cars fine? I don't want to be replacing turbos every 15,000 miles! Some people say it's because europe has roundabouts and the US has stoplights, or that gas is better in europe. Both of these explanations sound like garbage to me.

TBB's are also a problem in Europe; keep in mind that the vast majority posting here is from US+CA
That's why you don't hear of the problems European owners have.
As for the turbos, I have noticed the siren noise once in a MTM S4; it is really different than the normal turbo whistle and I wouldn't accept in my car.
