Wheel bearing?
I just got my S4 a month ago; it has 60k miles now. Recently, I've noticed a distinct vibration and almost growling coming from the front of my car that is most prevalent when I am making right turns. It is still there, but not as bad when I am going straight and goes away when I am making left turns. Am I correct in assuming that this is a faulty left wheel bearing? I had the same problem on my 90, except the vibration was a lot finer and smoother.
Is there a test I can do to confirm my wheel bearing theory (e.g., looking for play in the wheel by holding at 12 and 6 o'clock)?
If it is the wheel bearing (and not something like the CV joint), how difficult is the replace (has anyone done a write-up)? Any special tools? What's the right part number?
Thanks!
