Default When doing a clutch job how much more am I looking to pay for k04s to be installed?

Just want to get the turbos in there but no fueling just yet.

I have everything I need but clutch is slipping pretty bad so why not... right?

Other way 'round - clutch is trivial once motor is out for K04 install.

So it wouldn't save any time and money to do k04s with a clutch job?

Don't need to pull the engine to do a clutch...you do for K04s.

Default Sure, you'd save the $500 or so labor you'd pay to do the clutch another time...

otherwise, you're looking at thousands extra (depending on what parts you have already, and how 'basic' a ko4 swap you are willing to go with - all the extras and side items add up).

Default yeah but he could start with just K04's and then worry about other things later if he wanted.

Similar as with A4 which is what I have. Can do a K04 and then numerous other things beyond.

Default kind of true - but like I said the odds and ends add up...

inlet pipes, gaskets/hardware, some kind of mbc, misc hardware (clamps, ties, fasteners, fluids, etc). Let alone the clutch, resurfacing the flywheel, motor mounts, downpipes, etc. The other posters have it right - he's thinking about it backwards - you do a clutch when you do turbos, not turbos when you do a clutch. All those other things will cost a lot more to do separately in the future than doing a clutch.
