Default When I disconnected the MAF to replace the air filter, the o-ring came out cut.

So it's not a ring anymore. Can I just glue the two ends back together and stick it in there, or do I really need to get a new one? If so, does anybody have the P/N? I'm guessing I've been running with a broken o-ring for the past while, since it didn't feel like I broke it when I pulled it out; who knows?

Thanks.

Default Hah, turns out the P/O had a K&N filter in it - those are lifetime filters, right?

I went ahead and replaced it with the OEM paper filter I bought since I had already bought it, but I should keep the K&N and put it back in next time, right?

Default yes, they are lifetime (more)

They will likely shorten the lifetime of your MAF sensor. Stick with the paper filter

Default A small amount of liquid soap sometimes helps

If things are a little too tight when trying to install O-rings etc., then sometimes a tiny bit of dishwashing liquid soap works - just enough to get the part installed. Learned it from my dad. Sometimes grease is used, but when grease is not to be used, then the small amount of liquid soap may help.

Default One small tip for the connection

One other small comment - the first time I reconnected the MAF housing to the air filter housing, I just put the large O-ring on the MAF housing, and tried to connect the parts. I then saw that the air cleaner housing has a little channel with little tabs for the O-ring, and the connection was easier.
