Where do dealers get "production week"?

So many of you keep talking about what "week" your S4 is supposed to be built in. My dealer doesn't seem to know that information exists. Is it listed under some funny code on his data sheet & he just doesn't know what the code means? How can I find this out?

Production week is indicated on your dealer's invoice sheet.

The same thing happened to me.

My salesman said that he asked his superior, and he could not find anything. They also couldn't give me my car's status.

I went directly to the person who was in charge of ordering cars. He pulled out his invoice sheet. I asked him what my status code was - he looked at me strange. Then, I asked him what the build week was. Another funny look. I then asked him to see the sheet. I found my car - status code 'C' and build week 34.

If you have an order request number, then they have the information on your car. Of course, if you just ordered your S4, then it might not have been scheduled yet.

If they can't help you, go to their boss.

They tell me my status code is "D" but they don't know where to look for build week...

Is there a label I can tell them to look for? Or is it next to another piece of info that is easy to identify?

If your car is in 'D' status its in production.

It probably is/will be built this month. I'm guessing week 36 or 37.

Ask them again - it is on that invoice print-out. If you still get nothing, then they either don't know how to read it, or they don't care to.

Adam.

Thanks - the Audi sales manager says my production week is "36/37". I guess that's now!
