We are going to experiment with a Vortech kit on my buddy's Type R. We are expecting low 13s from it.

Nice
He has mostly wanted low 13s with the car which is enough to put a hurting on most street cars. There isn't an actual Vortech kit out yet for the Type R but if you use the GSR kit with the Si @6psi you can get it to work. You just need to fine tune the FMU with a V AFC. All in all he is looking a around $4200. The car now runs roughly 14.2s maybe high 13s with slicks.

Why does he not go with a turbo kit? From what I heard the supercharger
kits for the Hondas and Acura's do not produce that much boost or make that much power compared to a turbo. My friend had a Jackson supercharger on his 2000 civic Si and he took it off and got a turbo b/c he paid so much money for the supercharger and did not receive the power he wanted from it.

Thats because Jacksons suck ***. The man wants a Vortech so I will help him make it happen
I think the aftercooler really attracts him. Not to mention that he doesn't want to change the internals. Plus I have taken a good look at all the kits out there and they all suck except for the Greddy kit, but they don't offer it for the type R.
