I closed my sunroof last night and a black plastic stick fell on my friends head. There were no snapping or popping sounds when it closed and the sunroof still appears to function normally. I have no idea what this part is/does so I'm hoping one of you can help me out.

There are two numbers listed on it along with a right side designation:

8D0 877 794 A
849 854 928

The part is about 12" long, 1/2" wide and 3/16" thick. It has a tab on each end for hooking into something.

is it the part that blocks the wind? it pops up a bit when roof is open completly

Nope, I thought it might be some part of that too but it doesn't appear to be.

Turns out to be a piece of trim to cover the gap that is exposed when the glass closes and then lifts in the rear. Guess I didn't look closely enough with the sunroof closed last night.
