Default Split the air and direct it for more downforce...who knows...on street cars most kits have no....

real performance gains. It's all about lookin' good =)

Default Kind of like a rear wing thing?...

If a splitter's function is what you described, then they would be put through tremendous forces and need to be very stable... most of the ones I've seen do not appear to be too stable, but the one in this post looks to have some tension/leverage supports.

= front downforce, and that one looks very similar to the Champion Audi S4 splitters and looks to be quite functional. Whether this guy takes ADVANTAGE of that function is another question.
