I dont have any keys, at all.
car only came with 2, friend lost one, last winter, and i just lost the other, car is about 35 miles from the dealer, and is not drivable.
To hav ethis done at the dealer, im looking at 190 for the key, 75 to cut, plus about 300 in tow bill. Life Sux

Part number 4D0 837 231 is ...
Part number 4D0 837 231 without any following letter is "transmitter for: radio remote control central locking system" with remark "2 buttons" with restriction for MY2001 A4/S4 Quattro sedan 8D-1-200 000 and up according to illustration 831-10 in ETKA version 6, and I believe the answer for your question YES if the key is intact.
