Default Will VAG correctly log MAF values with the AWE Stage III Kit?

The fueling kit uses the AWE MAF housing which the Hitachi MAF then plugs into. Are the MAF g/s readings accurate from this setup or is there a correction factor I would need to apply? The reason I ask is that logging MAF values showed peak flow rates of mid 200's. From what I see of other Stage III kits people are getting MAF readings in the low 300's, obviously quite a difference. I am at altitude and that makes a difference. Is it possible I have a bad MAF? Anyway I can test the MAF with a voltmeter or other simple test?

Totally can't compare them. Nobody knows the correction factor AFAIK, but it is rescaled!

Default I *think* its linear based on the MAF diameter...

However, Funkweasel has said that the transition from the oem airbox diameter to the larger AWE MAF diameter affects the scaling/airflow.

The MAF gets nonlinear data but its job is to convert it to linear data for the ecu.....

Default So, if I'm right about the scaling (it's a big IF)...

For 250 g/sec (you said mid 200s) the comparable value would be around 330 g/sec.

Default What I'm trying to figure out is if you increase the MAF housing diameter by x%

(without changing the sensor itself) will the measured airflow decrease by x%? By measured airflow, I mean the data that it is sending to the ECU.

Default The MAF values on this kit are scaled somewhat. You can get a general sense of what it is doing

but the overall VAG_com/Bosch ME7 values are not correct ie reading 225gps on an AWE S3 where there is certainly more than that with K04s(300+). Best bet would be to get Todd or Garrett to tell you how to calculate actual airflow.

And then there is that stepped MAF which really adds to the confusion. We've tried extrapolating what the AWEvalue-vs-actual gps readings are and it is not linear.

Default Dave, ping Zold-man on this. He's been playing with other MAF

housings and may have some info.

Biggest disappointment is that the fueling kit appears to be tuned specifically to that stepped thing as anything normal overdrives the sensor iirc.

How does the AWE software run in "speed density" mode (with the maf d/c). Anyone tried it?
