Default The wood is gone! The wood is gone! Finally got time to install my new trim ...

I wanted to do full carbon, but the lack of available pieces and the exorbitant cost lead me to 'mix and match'.

All carbon on the console ... aluminum trim on the dash and doors.

The aluminum trim is out of an A4 and is kind of 'bronze' in some light and more 'silver' in others. It also has what I hear is called a "fish scale' finish. Different, which I like.

I like it much, much better than the wood I started out with ... so I'm really happy with it.

Big thanks to Keith for the carbon bits and Collin for the aluminum trim.

Sorry for the crappy photo's, I'm not much of a photog (It looks much better in person).

The install took about 2 and a half hours, start to finish. I used the 'short cut method' I found when searching on AW.

Worked perfectly and saved me from pulling the entire console. The doors are super easy, which is good since I'll likely need to go back in and install the correct mounting clips (my wood trim used a different type on the door pieces?).

Now I'd like to find an RS6 shifter to match the RS6 paddle wheel!

Oh yeah, this also means I have a complete set of Wood trim - all pieces - in great condition - for sale, if anyone's looking! Thanks!

Default I have a full 9 piece CF trim set just sitting at my house. I have that bronze stuff in my A4.

It looks like it is a vinyl decal on top of something. If there were bare aluminum under there that could be hot.

My 9 piece CF trim set is not OEM but made of a mold of my wood set. I sold a few sets a while back but this last set was going to go to a friend who never ponied up so I was going to list it on eBay. Advantage is you get to keep or sell your OEM set. Most CF copies out there are overlays of OEM trim but mine is true 100% CF made in molds and vacuum bagged for a perfect finish. I even imported a dozen OEM "Quattro" badges for the belt line trim. Email me if you're interested.

I have one more set that I am saving for my next B5S4 as I'm selling my current car soon.
