Would it be a *bad* idea to drive 200 some odd miles with a damaged turbo?

I'm thinking I should just drive my car up to portland, get it in service and have them look at it. Do you think asking for a 2001 is out of the question now? They can't try to blame anything on my modified exhaust (or at least they shouldn't?). This is just plain pathetic. I'm frustrated...
2000 Silver/Onyx 6spd

I'd say to go ahead and do it.
If you remember, my turbos (in fact the right side) was making more noise than the usual and was diagnosed by one dealer as a blown or in-process blown turbo.
The tech said that worse thing that can happen is the dang turbo goes with a puff of black smoke out the back.
I'd say to go whereever and not let the noise stop you. Worse come to worse, you have Audi Assurance, even if it isn't very assuring. Call them and have it towed to the nearest dealer, which I would think be Portland after all if you go beyond that magic 1/2 way point.
Audi tows to the nearnest dealer, and they will pay for food and lodging if you are stuck. Just remember to drive up the coast!

ugh...don’t drive up the coast in OREGON!!!
you’ll get stranded somewhere where nobody’s ever HEARD of an Audi (my folks live in North Bend).
See my post below...I believe the oil lines to and from the turbo are extremely small and I bet some stupid mechanic messed one of these up and your new turbo has been starved of lube and burned the bearings or something similar. For SURE take it to another dealer and tell them that’s your concern. Their mechanics will be HAPPY to find fault in some other dealer’s service ;-)

I'd be worried about turbo failure dumping debris in the intake path, harming the engine.
Perhaps if you just drive like "grandma", and stay totally out of boost.
If you get a good repair (ever!) the car will be fine, these cars are well built for maintainance, and can be torn down that far, and re-assembled as good as new. If the tech wants to, that is. :-(

Which side? It occures to me that perhaps you could open that line at the TBB, and
form a cap filter out of a good grade of screening, and re-assemble it, so if the worse happens, a) you might catch the debris and b) if you don't, the holes punched in the screen will tell you engine damage is likely, also.
