Would wheel spacers on stock rims have any adverse effects?

Default Would wheel spacers on stock rims have any adverse effects?
It's mostly for looks, I'd just like the wheels to be slightly more in line with the frame.

Default Not as long as you get the hub centric type.
Just be sure to get the longer wheel bolts to match. Note that the farther out the wheel, the greater chance of a small out of balance or mis-centering will be accentuated. Sometimes seemingly perfectly balanced wheels are all of a sudden a little "off".

Default So which ones to use?
H&R makes hubcentric spacers. ec magazine did a review a few months ago and gave them a thumbs up...

Any real world experiences?

Default I had 15mm H&Rs on the rear of my Z3...
No problems.
