Wow... must be S4 day the last few days.
Anyways, my normal every day driving here in the bay area, I don't see to many S4's. At the most, I see maybe 1 every 3 or 4 days. However, just this week, namely the last 2 days, I have seen close to a dozen. My best sighting, was a fellow black S4 (me saloone, him avant) driving south on the 880 around fremont/hayward area. Couldnt do much at first cause of the rush hour traffic, but it opened up a little towards auto mall pkwy, so for about a couple of miles, we got to play a little, I dont think he was chipped cuz I easily pulled away from him. We each gave each other the thumbs up..
Then also last night, I guess a few people had a tiny meet cuz at Valco after eating at Todai's I was sitting at the parking lot and saw a couple S4's pull out.
Amazing though, of all the S4's I saw, only one gave a thumbs up type of acknoledgement, only two others looked but just stared blankly as I waved and gave thumbs up.
ohwell. at least i see some comaradery out there. woohoo.

Yeah, when I got my '00 I never saw them. In the last year, I see about six a day.
Since school got back into session, I see a lot more than that. Its very clear this year the S4 is what the M3 was last few years -- the car of choice for mommy and daddy to buy for graduation gifts.
Gotta remember, too, there's a lot of non-parent-supplied money in the Boston area. There are five or six S4s that park in the garage I park in every day. At least three or four that I regularly see in the area, and a couple I see a bit less likely. FWIW, silver definitely seems to be the most common color around here.
They're rare here on the north shore -- I see an imola one heading up towards Lynn occasionally, I've seen Carmen a bunch of times. There's a wicked rice A4 in the area, but I try to pretend I don't see it. Its hideous.
Very rarely do I see any with any visible mods to it. Pansies.
