WRX impression..3rd time..compare to my S
Went to test drive (Me sat at the back) an WRX and VW GTI 1.8T with my friends today. (He's about to buy a new car)
Well, it wasn't the first time I was in a WRX.
1st impression of the 1st time: WOW!!!! (own a 96 Eclipse GSX automatic)
1st impression of the 2nd time: hehe~!! (own a 2001.5 New Passat GLX 4motion)
1st impression of the 3rd time: yeah yeah~ (now has my S 6spd with X..hehehe) (no comparison to my S anymore)
WRX's Ugly front is just...ewww
Unrefined materials throughout the entier car...ewww
Engine doesn't sound as MUSICAL as the S...
plus, my friend was driving WRX like a Buick. Damn it~
but, one thing I noticed was that, "my S doesn't feel as solid over bumps." Is it because it's almost 2 yrs old? (loose suspension or whatever parts?) or it's just the 16" fat profile of the WRX that's acting as a good cushion?
The GTI, on the other hand, felt much better. Maybe less torque, and no AWD, but so what? over all, more solid, and 1.8T engine is a nicer engine to the ears. Power deliver smoother.
GTI 1.8T gets my friend's $ and vote

The WRX is an awesome looking (street rally look) car!! I love them!!
I would love to have one of those relatively cheap cars (answer to some S4 comparisons) to bang around.
I always give the WRX guys a thumbs up as they do to me as well.

I used to have a 2000 GTI 1.8T before my S4....
and I ran a 14.4 @ 96mph with just a cat-back exhaust and a Neuspeed ECU(and stock tires!). It definitely has a lot of potential. Great car overall.
