Reds really go that fast. I really don't ride my brakes hard either. Could it be possible that my BBS X-drilled/Slotted rotors ate them up faster? I haven't checked them yet, light came on this morning on the way to work, it could be a loose connection but has anyone had Mintex go this fast?

Default It's possible the rotors chewed them up...

drilled rotors do tend to take on a cheesegrater effect on brake pads. Take off the wheel and have a look. Either the sensor wire came unclipped or your pads are indeed ready to be replaced.

Default Try topping off the brake fluid.

My brake light came on last week and like you I was perplexed because the pads/rotors have been in use for <10k miles. Therefore, I decided to top off the fluid and indeed the light went off.

Did you look at the pads? Do they look really worn?

Default Aren't there two different dummy lights for the fluid and pad sensors?

Stupid question, I know, but I normally address these things before the dummy lights come on.

Default check the connector for the pad wear sensor

mine actually broke off on me....how that could happen I have no idea. In the end I just twisted the wires together and did away with the wear sensor.

Default You should be able to see the pads without removing a wheel. But...

did you track or auto-X with them? Do you live in a area with a lot of hills? I went thru 3 sets of pads (and 2 sets of rotors) in 20K, but I tracked my car
