wtf, egt sensor not covered in my warrenty plan? thats a crock of bs.

Farb 10-05-2006 08:03 AM

...I didn't think the egt sensor is a wear item. Where can I buy one?

Dr. Jekyll 10-05-2006 08:08 AM

ECS has em, IIRC they are around $200 :-/ Pricey little bastards

Dealership probably has them too but they will want your left testicle or your first born ;-)

Farb 10-05-2006 08:13 AM

ahrg!! I don't want to spend 200 on a freaking sensor...stupid germans, wtf

DAP@EPL 10-05-2006 08:14 AM

I have a brand new EGT sensor that I don't need.

Bought it thinking I had a bad one but it turned out to be a wiring issue.

Email me if you're interested.

Is it the hard one or the easy one to replace?

Enigmagic 10-05-2006 08:28 AM

iirc i paid about $140 at 1stvwparts

quickaudi:STFA 10-05-2006 08:34 AM

what warranty? I know that they aren't covered under the emissions warranty

that is 7 years, but catalytic converters should be, or something like that.

PSmalls::AnalRetentiveNumbNut 10-05-2006 08:38 AM

You've got to be kidding me, Steve. 02s and EGTs are not wear items in general....

they just suck ass on our cars. That's not a good excuse, though. I'd be royally pissed if my aftermarket warranty company denied either.
