Default WTF? A hum that gets louder and louder as I go faster...

starts around 30mph, i hear the OTHER hum from the drivetrain between 40-45mph (that one goes away), but this one keeps building.

Sounds like its coming from the rear of the car. Do I perhaps need a 'lube job'?

Default it's probably your rear diff...

u may need to have someone look at it..
first check level of fluid ..but usually it make noise when the ring and pinion are worn out..
see if it changes note under load..

Default Wow! Great answer! Let me ask you...

The noise seems to momentarily go away when I turn to the left (ie going 50-60mph and highway banks left), but not to the right. Does this make sense?

That may be a rear wheel bearing

Default yup...that maight be .

if the noise is more pronunced when turning that side (so more load on that wheel ) it may be the wheel bearing, if the noise tone changes when accelerating straight line (the diff under load) may be the diff.. that how u can verify and get an ideea.
but if it does it when load is on one side ..than most likely is the wheel bearing.
try all this and see what really makes a difference.
let us know how it goes..

Wheel bearing - I'd put money on it. Just had the same thing and had it replaced
