I can get the stock pads for about $100, either through stealership (today), Claire maybe tomorrow, or the Mintex through AWE ($120, where I can stop/drop by to pick 'm up if needed). I am not particularly looking for racing pads, but want to make sure that if I am running low on pads on the track, I will have replacements available.
(yes Tim, saw you had you Hawks for sale, but I don't think Mrs Goldie will approve those pads....)

I'd rather see you run stock pads on the track instead of Mintex Red's...
But if you are running a track with any significant braking zones, either of those pads will get destroyed, and you'll have an interesting time slowing the car down.....
But if you're a relative novice track driver, and you back off when you feel the pads fade, 50% on stock pads should be enough for the day.
You'd be wise to get some Hawk HP+ or something, though.

Hey grandma, be quiet, you're NOT even CONSIDERING a track event :P
you coming to NS 2-nite.....have to do some pressure testing, installing the racing tape, and remove all the junk from the car...

you will be fine!
i did a ton of events on one set of stock pads. yes, i'm nice on my brakes...but hard on the tires.
unless you plan on driving 10/10ths out of the box you'll have plenty of pad for the event.
don't forget to sign up for seat time in the STi (passenger only)...only $150 per lap. ;-)

My "instructor" is bringing in his RS model, with WRX engine, open exhaust, I might try to catch a ride with him.....that car is an amimal, you'll notice it, its completely in primer.....
Heard the '05 WRX is gonna be a BALLER, wider fenders, bigger wheels etc....I think I'm getting ready to jump ship/saving money for '05, especially in seeing/knowing how much more affordable the parts are for the Suby's
