Default WWAWD... Re: SMOG

I'm stage 3 (KO4/RS6 brids homebrew with green giants, S8 MAF, AFPR, MBC, GIAC X) and I am due for SMOG here in Cali. Trouble is the car isn't quite tuned to where it would pass smog as it runs quite rich. As it stands, even with lemmi tweaks of:

87.5% inc load
75% dec load
87.5% secondary
-15.8% primary

Vag still shows LTFTs of:
.8% idle and -15.6% at part throttle

I am no tuning genius and while the car doesnt throw rich codes, you can still smell it a bit esp at WOT.

Would you keep at tuning with less than a month to go till smog or would you just pull the injectors, maf, MBC, AFPR, and reset Lemmi to stock and run stockers for the smog test...?

What do y'all think?

Rob

BTW tuning is odd even with ECUX since I am still running stock exhaust and ICs so that fueling gets all wacky when the IATs jump up. Dont flame me for running stocker IC and exhaust: I'm saving my money for my wedding next month =P

Default You might be fine. Ask your neighborhood smog to hook it up w/o running full test...

They don't load test AWD cars and only rev it to about 2000-2500 rpms if I recall. FWIW, my Stage 2 X/piggies/fmic passed easily after I drove it hard for about 15 minutes--in fact had lower CO and HC than the wife's Accord.
