xenon light question. How do I tell if a bulb is bad vs. housing issues?
my housing adjustment mechanism broke a while back (cheap *** plastic mechanism), and I have temporarily fixed it until I have funds to get a new housing (just bought an engagement ring so not much $ right now, arg)
When i fixed the housing it made it much better, but the light from the good housing looks much better (brighter and blue) where as the other housing the light looks yellowish. I remember when I installed the bulbs that in the broken housing I scraped the bulb a bit. So im not sure whether just a new housing or just a new bulb would fix this problem. Any ideas? When a bulb is going out does the light get yellowish at all?

It does lose intensity as it ages. It's not noticable unless measured though.
Because you look at it everyday, you won't notice the gradual decrease in intensity. But if you measured the output when new and then a couple years later, there is about a 20-25% decrease in output.
