Xpost: Nikon coolpix help needed
I am thinking of the 775,880, and the 885. I just want one to take pics of my car, and family events. Basiclly just for a toy. Anyone using one of these? Please post pics and or impressions. Much appreciated.
Thanks,
Chad

Re: i have the CP 880. it was superceded by the 885
Rumor has it that the 880 is better??? Btw...any idea why a refurbished 880 is just as much as a new 885? The more research I do, the more confused I get.
Thanks,
Chad

Re: i have the CP 880. it was superceded by the 885
i recall reading something along the same lines (the 880 better than the 885 in some aspects..could have been more subjective than objective) on the nikon forum on dpreview.com but can't remember what it was specifically.
if you haven't already, you might want to read their reviews of the 880 and then the 885 to see what they have concluded.

Re: Nikon Coolpix
I have had a Nikon CoolPix 950 for a while now and it is great. They even have accessory lenses for the 900 series. The swiveling lense section permits viewing the LCD at strange angles - over your head or at the ground - to make your wunder-machine look even tougher. Johnny Uwyo

I have a 775 and love it. Friend has 990.
I love my 775. My friend who owns the 990 really likes my 775 too. If I was at home I'd post some pics but I'm at a friend's house. I'd fully recommend a 775 to friends and family. Oh also, I dropped mine out of the front pocket of my hoody when I was goofing around jumping off a bench. It fell to the concrete and survived unscathed. Needless to say I'm much more careful with it now.
