Default Yet another getting ready for the track post. Is there so much debris on the track

that makes folks cover their headlights with blue tape? Also, wouldn't it make sense to take out the fog light inserts (are they even called that)?

Thanks,

Chris

Default No, debris will accumulate throughout the course of the day though. I've

been to tracks that "want" you to cover headlights in case of breakage, but that was the stupidest thing I ever heard...

Take the complete left and right insert for the fogs out if you want...

I did it the first time out. Wasn't necessary.

Default EMRA requires it for Time Trials even if plastic. they're used to old school muscle cars w/ glass

headlights, which would cause dangerous debris if they broke onto the track.

I don't always do it, but it does help with less track rubber marks to clean off of the car.

anyway, what's it to you what other people do to their cars?...especially at DEs.

Default I am having custom clear protective vinyl covers made for our cars. Let me know if you...

are interested. I haven't had an issue with debris yet, but when I have used it as and excuse for upgrading to ecodes. Of course...I still have my stock headlights. ; p

Default what's it to me what other people do?

Nothing, really. I was wondering why, and if there was good reason, whether I should too. I've seen several track sigs with this, yours included, and I find myself looking to (most of this) community for advice and examples.

You found that offensive?

I do it mainly for peace of mind. Plus, it makes me look like I know what I'm doing. ;-)

Default You'll get a lot of tire rubber on the car, the front will have black streaks & chunks

on it, usually there isn't a lot of other stuff on tracks unless a car goes off. Blue tape is fine.

Wax the front up well so you can get all the bugs & rubber off.
