Default Yet another happy JHM Solid Shifter customer. Toyguy vs. JHM, clear winner...

Having come from a toyguy SS at stock height I paid close attention to how the shifter felt through the gears and the slop in neutral and when in gear. I drove around with the toyguy shifter one last time before installing the JHM as a final reminder.

Skip past the install which is pretty much like any other install...which is a breeze unless you drop a bolt in the hole.

With toyguy there was noticebale slop in neutral, all gears and shifting from gear to gear felt sloppy.

I always get pissed off when people describe the JHM solid shifter as "solid" because I didn't get what the hell that meant. Well, you have to try it to know what everyone is talking about. Slop has been reduced so much and shifting is extremely precise, you can rip gears - only problem is I need a lightweight flywheel since my revs don't drop nearly as quick as I need them to!

JHM hands down - best short shifter i've ever had and most dramatic. I've had toyguy, tanoga, stock, stratmosphere - JHM wins by a landslide.

Is yours stock height or lower? (The ball/shaft, not the shifting pivot)

How old was your TG and had you done the zip-tie mod on it?

Default My toyguy was stock height, same with the JHM. JHM is set to the stock setting (10%) instead of the

35% (I believe that's the other setting). I didn't do the zip tie mod because it's a temporary fix to a permanent problem - the plastic pivot ball.

Default I've asked others, and curious how you found the alignment- ->

given there appears to be so little play in the shifter, I am worried that getting the alignment spot on would be difficult. ??

I have been having issues catching reverse when my SS is aligned properly for the other forward gears..wondering if the JHM might help..
