Default are the yokohama es100's really loud?

I'm looking for opinions on these tires... they seem to match what i'm looking for in a tire. Good but not necessarily S-03 grip, summer compound, slightly better treadwear and great price. Main concern is that I've been reading that they get pretty loud after a few thousand miles. Any long term experiencees with this tire on the S4?

They aren't loud at all!

Oh forgot to add that currently I'm on worn out re040's and they seem to roar like crazy at even moderate speeds. So I guess that's my point of reference.

Default Yeah, at 2,000 miles mine weren't loud either.

Up until now I never really understood why people said tires "roared." These do. However, they are very durable and competitively prices. I think the noise after several thousand miles is the only downside. I'm not upset I bought them, but do with they were a bit quieter. Noise is not my primary concern.

Default I don't think so but I had the AVS Sport which were quite "trucky" sounding

I find the are noisy at around 55 and I don't drive 55 very much, they are fine around 80-85 in a 235/40-17

I always listen to music so I'm not worried. Even if they were loud, I can't tell

Default hmmmm...other suggestions?

The tire that I really want are the Eagle F1 GS-D3's but at $157 each they're a lot more than the ES100's...dammit!

Default They actually *look* pretty good at 6k, considering...

...I'm not terribly hard on them; they see normal use and get pushed through corners in a good drift about once or twice a week. But everyone who gets in my car asks "what on earth is that noise", "holy crap", etc, etc.
