Your motors are being dragged down and you don't even know it! FREE THEM with the SPP fan kit!

Nice writeup! Would this be a concern for any of us that live in very hot climates?
I don't want my A/C to stop working (not that it works well to begin with) in like 120F at a stop light?

Two things: first, the bumper comes off rather easily if you just read one of the previous posts regarding realigning it. That takes the biggest hassle out of it. No need to yanking it out. Second, the efficiency of electric motors is not better than a mechanical clutch. The clutch driven fan might cost you 1 KW at max. To run an electric motor with 1 KW you abviously need 1 KW of electric energy or more (duh!), but generating 1 KW takes about 3 KW. So you do not gain a whole lot, you just postpone the need for generating the charge in your battery.

In case you're not familiar with how cooling fans work...
There is no need for the electric fan to be on above 20-30mph. If the fan is on at higher speeds it will be counterproductive to the flow of air. Same goes for the mechanical fan. Above a certain mph it does more harm than good. Have you ever noticed that the clutch fan disengages once you pick up speed? - you might have been too busy watching your voltage gauge.
What is accomplished by removing that rotating mass which causes parasitic drag on the motor is far more desireable than using a little more juice while sitting at a stop light or while in traffic. Even when the clutch fan is disengaged, there is a considerable amount of force put into turning the mechanical fan... maybe when you put in your efk from Supreme Power Parts you can turn the clutch in your hand and see what I'm talking about first hand.
BTW, I'm the kind of guy who has trouble pulling of the front fascia grills because I hate to be rough on the car... so cut me some slack on the bumper.

When both of our cars are done.
I've still got clutch issues and yours is under the knife, no?
Danny said something about fabricating some downpipes for you... how's that going?
