I wasn't talking about the color. It's superb! Going from a royal blue in bright sun to almost black indoors, and a whole range of shades depending on the weather. So much nicer in person than any photos.

I was talking about my recent penchant for blue watches and blue sneakers to match the paint, but it's a lot of fun.

Yesterday I removed the badging on the back, and the two V8T's on the sides. I left the one on the grill, because it looks like I'll break it if I try to remove it. And few are likely to see it as I my tail lights disappear in front of them. This thing is a speeding ticket waiting to happen. It feels like I'm going 60 when I'm doing triple digits. Maybe my speedo got KPH by mistake when they built it....

Next is my quest for wheels. Trying to figure out how low I get the offset without interference with the fenders. Some are saying 25 ET with 9" wide wheels, but that doesn't seem possible. I'm going to try taping cardboard feelers to the wheel wells and see how deep I get before they rub the tires. I'm looking at 20" 38 ET wheels and thing 5-8mm spacers on the front, maybe 12 in the rear. What are people finding with aftermarket wheels?

I'm running 20x9 ET25 with 265/35 tires and I've had one instance of rubbing in ~5000 miles while I was in a sharp turn and the outside front wheel hit a big bump. At this width/offset the wheel does not protrude past the top of the fender, but the tire slightly does (you can see in my photos). A 275/30 tire might have some rubbing issues but a 265 slightly rounds the tire profile providing enough clearance 99% of the time.

My ideal setup would be 20x9 ET30 with a 275/30 tire, but BBS doesn't make the CH-R in that size. I still love HRE (custom sizing) but I can't bring myself to spend that much $ on wheels.

Default A picture...

Here is a picture of the S6 specific front mats in case you all hadn't seen them... unfortunately mine arrived fairly dirty and I haven't had a chance to clean them up.

You got these second hand or from the dealer?

www.genuineaudiparts.com

They are a dealer out of San Diego that a lot of people on the forum use for OEM parts. I have the part numbers if you need them.

Wait! You received them dirty from the dealer?
Hope you didn't pay full price for used mats.

Yeah, they came like that. But I contacted them and they sent me out a new set at no charge. If you ever need parts, these guys are the place to go.

Rob,

Your pics and links are pretty much what I'm using as a guide. I'm looking at 8.5" ET 30-35 wheels and 245-255 wide tires. Do you think choosing 19" or 20" wheels would make a difference in fender clearance considerations?

I'm interested in anyone's set ups using less than stock offset, or using spacers.

Hartmann has 20" S7 replicas in 25 and 40 ET. I guess the 25s would be too far out, but the 40s with 5-8mm spacers might look nice. And I'd be able to use the spacers with my stock 19"s.

Keep in mind that you have to consider the width of the wheel when talking about offset. A 9" wide rim will stick out 6mm more than an 8.5" for a given offset. My 20x9 ET25 has the same offset as a 20x8.5 ET19. If you want to use a calculator, I like this one: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

The stock tires are sized such that the overall diameter for the 19" and 20" wheel are approximately the same (255/40-19 vs 255/35-20), so there should be little difference in fender clearance. You could always choose your own size to vary the diameter if you're OK with the resulting speed error.

I was thinking of tire width of 19" vs 20" given the same diameter. I noticed the speedometer, compared to GPS speed was pretty accurate, reading ~70 at 69mph. Other cars seem to be as much as 5% off.

So I might go a little taller in tire selection but not much. (except maybe winter wheels, where I'd get the highest profile, skinniest ones I can find.
