2016 S6 - possible purchase
I am in Denver and looking at a 2016 S6 Prestige with sport package. The vehicle has 48,500 miles on it and the dealer ship is asking $44,500. It seems like a good price. I'm doing my best to dig through threads and get up to speed on things to watch out for, etc. but feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the price given the miles. Car is in good condition inside and out with clean CarFax (although I have gotten through enough threads to know that doesn't mean anything).
I'm assuming all will recommend an extended warranty and I know to shop around for best price on that before pulling the trigger.
I appreciate any comments or feedback everyone has. I have had a number of Audi's in the past and looking to get back into one. S6 seems like a great option for what I'm looking for in a car.
Thanks,
John

Well I pulled the trigger and picked up the 2016 S6 yesterday afternoon.
Wife and I then loaded the huge trunk with a Yeti, 5 sleds and several bags of stuff and headed into the mountains.
Took turns driving the 2 1/2 hours to our destination. Loads of fun. Now I’llstart looking at increasing the hp for even more fun.
Theres an open recall on the car which will goce me an give me an opportunity to connect with the local dealer and look into extended warranties.

@jtm1631 Congrats! I'm pretty sure you will love the car, at least I know I am very happy with mine.

Audi care is only worth it if you put a lot of miles on your car every year. The transmission needs to be flushed at 40k miles and that alone is $400+. I only drive 5k miles per year so Audicare isn't worth it for me. All I ever do is basic oil changes and tire rotations at the dealer before I sell my car.
I had Audicare on an A5 that I leased for 36 months back in 2013. I paid $850 for Audicare. I returned the car with 15k miles and never came close to covering the cost of Audicare. Audicare is not refundable on a prorated basis so it was a loss for me. Never again with the amount of miles I put on the car yearly.

I also passed on the AudiCare but it was a closer question as my dealer told me that my annual services would be identical to the mileage based services regardless of actual mileage. Meaning after two years I'd need the 20K service (brake fluid change, etc) even if I had only 10K miles at the time. Your dealer will do just oil changes/tires without the standard maintenance?
