2018 Model year Car but Production Date of 11/17 Resale Impact down the line
Hi , I am in the process of buying a New 2018 model year car. When I asked the dealer about the Cars Manufactured date I was notified that it is "11-27-17". Now I understand the reason for the difference in model year and Manufactured date but what I am unsure about is How does this impact the resale of the car when I go to sell it lets say 3 years down the line. Would having a 2017 production date for a 2018 model impact the resale value after 3 to 4 years ? Any other things you guys recommend I should check for before buying this car? For reference: I am buying an Audi S6 2018 as there are some very good discounts going on for A6, S6 , A7, and S7's.
I would really appreciate your help. This is my first brand new car and I want to make sure I am not making a blunder. Thanks!

It's still a model year 2018 so it's not worth less than a 2018 built in 12/18. One thing to keep in mind is that car your looking at most likely has been sitting in a dealer lot the whole time, not at the port with it's shipping wrapper still on because of the PODS recall. In my experience cars that sit in dealer lots for extended periods of time don't fair well because they are exposed to the elements near highly trafficked roadways and the exteriors are not maintained very well. Typically dealers use car wash services that show up once a month, power wash the cars with little or no soap and dry them with dirty rags. If the dealer is in an area that has hard water look over the glass well, hard water etches glass. Look the car over carefully before you purchase.

Should not be a problem. Carfax only reports the day the car is sold. Many of these cars were at port and sat there and not all have been with dealers during the recall period.
Make sure you’re getting a good discount. These cars have already depreciated as new cars since they are a prior model with 2019s out. I don’t think a 25% discount off msrp is out is the question.
