I assume this ECU update overwrites any aftermarket tune one may have?

If you have a tune, flash back to stock. Never let the service department know you have/had a tune. If your car gets a TD1, it blows any chance of a "goodwill" engine repair in the future.

The car is out of warranty (delivered Oct 2012) and is already TD1 flagged so I'm only asking so I know whether I need to make some time to visit my local APR dealer.

Worth confirming with your APR dealer that they have a tune based on the new file first, as it might not be available yet.

To the ones that had it done, does your car feels a little more Torquier or it's just My head paying tricks on me ? Lol
My S8 is ripping.

Dropped my S6 off yesterday. The service advisor first said it only needed the software update, but called me later in the day and said they had to order parts for it (I assume the O-rings or gaskets) and asked to keep the car overnight to install them this morning.
Didn't notice anything different on the ride back home, but I was going easy on it as I also had new tires installed.

I've been on the forums for so long, I'm embarrassed to ask, but are "service campaigns" like this performed at no cost, even if the car is out of warranty? Mine should be right up against 4 years, I'd think...Thanks!

Yes, service campaigns (recalls) are free after the warranty ends. Dealer should also give you a loaner car for the service.

By the way - I'm not noticing any difference with the software upgrade, but a really big improvement in ride and handling with my new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires over the stock Pirelli P Zeros.

Great -- thanks!
