Default Bang & Olufsen

When I was looking around for my S6 I noticed one option glaringly absent from the vast majority of them I was finding (near all of them really)...B&O. I was wondering how many others have this pricy option in their S6’s and if it was equally hard to find? Not to get into the semantics of it, but to my ears it sounds phenomenal and was a vast improvement to me. This is coming from a US perspective, but of course anyone can chime in. I was looking at my Monroney recently and it got me thinking about this. Seems like this option is, dare I say, rare? Is it really that rare? Looking at the sticker price, I can see why.

For 2016, the B&O stereo is a $4900 option & only on the S6/S7 Prestige model, so yes, it is somewhat rare to find, unless the car is fully loaded. I could not find a partially loaded S6 with B&O on the lot, when I bought mine, so I have the lousy Bose system.

That’s the same price I paid for mine as well. Of the very few I found they were also loaded. Here’s a copy of my Monroney with the options. One could get the Prestige Package, Driver Assistance Package and Carbon Atlas for about the same price. Price aside, I really do like it though and took forever to find the exact combo I was looking for.

I think it was 5900 in the first 2013 MY releases. I ponied up for it and love it everyday.

For $4900 you can do a full Bose system replacement with aftermarket and have something that far surpasses the B&O in performance.

I found my 2013 S6 fully loaded and I have to say the B&O is amazing... I had heard it was worth if if you had the means... it did not disappoint. Sure you can probably do an aftermarket system, but then you deal with rattles from the $8/hr tech pulling off and on your panels. For a factory system that is warrantied and needs no added touch.... you cannot beat it.
