Bevel Box leak...
I was in today having my usual every 5k oil change and tire rotation at my custom shop...and they noticed a small leak in the bevel box. I'm not familiar with that - but guess it has to do with torque vectoring. Said I should get it done sooner than later - and the cost is around 8k???
Time to detune and drive for a week and then drop it off.
Only 17k miles on the clock.

Yours is a 2016 with only 17K miles. No warranty? Did you already get a TD1?
Anyway, what's the cause of the leak. Faulty seal? Gasket? Detonated internals? It seems pretty flippant for your shop to quote $8K to fix without any actual in-depth diagnosis. Unless you're replacing the entire rear diff, that sounds pretty high.

My shop just detected the leak. I am not TD1 and still under warranty. My custom shop is the premier one here with all their techs coming directly from Audi and VW. So they estimated the warranty work would be around 8k based on seeing previous repairs at dealers. It is not about to fail or anything...just a need to do. There is no diagnostic on it - just the detection. After some research I think the bevel is part of the diff. I can't find any exact examples on an S6 but many on some A3 and VWs.
