Default blown turbos update

Have just gotten off the phone an Audi dealer and they stated that the 2017-18 model S6s have the revised screens valves etc installed at the factory. Maybe some others could confirm.

The TSB for the repair is dated 2017 and includes the new screen revision number. The beginning affected models may depend on when the 2017 MY vehicle engine was assembled.
The VIN range was added in version 3, 05/14/2018, see the bottom below.

Rev 1, 02/02/2017 Initial publication
Rev2, November 21, 2017, Revised Required Parts and Tools (Updated quantity and part numbers)

079103175C Check valve
079115175G Oil strainer

4th Revison below, May 22, 2018

This issue was the only bump when getting my new S6. Wanting to confirm the newest revision of the screens are on the 2018 models? Mine has a build date of 4/18 and should have this. As far as I can tell, mine was one of the last ones built. I ask because I’ve read elsewhere the early 2017’s may be affected?

The only way to know for sure is to tear down and check it.

The Audi 4.0T turbo fail TSB revision 3, dated 5-15-2018 is the first time a production solution is mentioned with the new screen and check valve. One could expect it has the new screen, but it will be difficult to validate, without a tear down. We know that many of the 2017 models likely had the old screen, due to the listing a serial numbers in the TSB. This would lead one to believe the 2018 might have the new screen.

The Audi 4.0T turbo fail TSB revision 1, dated 2-2-2017 had the prior revision 079115175F Oil strainer.

The Audi 4.0T turbo fail TSB revision 2, dated 11-21-2017 has the current revision 079115175G Oil strainer
