Hi All,

Potentially considering a 2014 S6.

Since I typically keep my cars for 10+ years (my current 530i is 15 years old), I'm trying to get an understanding of what some of the common issues of the C7 platform are. Some of them may be S6 specific, while others may apply to all of the C7s out there.

I realize most people probably ditch these cars when the warranty (or extended warranty) is up and move on to the next best thing, so the information here may be limited. Still, if you can think of anything, that will help me get a better idea of maintenance/repair costs to expect when owning it post warranty.

I'll kick start the replies with engine mounts. Definitely a potential issue for the C7 S6, and also affects other model C7s from what I've read.

The mounts can leak fluid, which in my case resulted in a fault code being thrown (but no other noticeable symptoms such as vibrations or CEL).
