Catastrophic failure of one of the turbos
My passenger side turbo blew up today.
The cold side wheel just shattered and sent pieces back up the intake tube to the air box.
I pulled out of my neighborhood and when it shifted to second I heard a loud bang and I went into what I thought was Limp Mode.
I let the car warm up and wasn t even WOT when this happened.
car specs
2013 S6
stage 2 APR
3" catless downpipe
Anyone have any ideas as to why this happened? Shaft and poeces of the cold side turbine wheel that I found in the airbox.
In the cold side of the passenher side turbo with turbo inlet pipe removed.

The good news is that your intercooler likely stopped any pieces form entering the engine. Just make sure during the repair that all the little broke parts are out of the intake. May even want to replace the intercooler just to make sure.

I'll cut and paste below..
S6 with Stage 2 - 93 octane tune
586 HP 694 TQ and 517 AWHP 651 AWTQ
S6 with RS6/7 Turbo stage 3 - 93 octane tune
634 HP 671 TQ and 555 AWHP 622 AWTQ
It wasn't till later that night when I pulled the air filter an saw the pieces that i was like Oh crap...
It looks like all the pieces were blown backwards to the air filter housing. I'm definitely gong to clean the entire boost path, and clean the air charge cooler before I put everything back together.

OEM AUDI RS6 RS7 S8 4.0L TFSI TURBOCHARGER PAIR NEW!!! 079145721B 079145722B | eBay
There is a "complete kit" that is still missing a few things from USP Motorsport. About 2 grand more
https://www.uspmotorsports.com/Engin...grade-Kit.html
I think this is what it's missing.
both turbo inlet pipes (Audi parts calls them hoses) to the airbox.
both turbo outlet hoses that go to the Intercooler (air charge cooler)
The part numbers for the 2014 RS7 differ from those on the 2013 S6.
As soon as I get everything off the car and side by side ill check it out.
