Gearbox Malfunction (No Reverse, Continue Driving) smell of oil
Audi S6 with 78k KM. daily driver.
1- Transmision fluid was changed @ 40K. KM.
2-experienced the last 5 days a slight jerk when reaching to a full stop as if someone is bumping you from the back.
3- Drove today normal driving parked the car and got in, restarted the car and hit R - NO reverse got a light " Transmission Malfunction No Reverse Gear, Continue Driving"
4- continued driving for 10 km shifting between 1-3-5-7 .
5- next light comes up - transmission overheating- and i can smell the trans fluid burning.
6- continued a bit then stopped and called a toe truck.
it is those feeling when you feel that you're driving a car that might break any times and i had that feeling last week when the little jerk at full stop happened which is I thought was normal in DGS's .
will keep you posted, and if there is any similar cases please share and will keep you guys posted for the damage and the cost.

It's a mecatron ...short circted and stoped working leading to stop in oil cooling /pump and overall overheating transmission .
my car is a 2014 warrantee is over nevertheless I did the major service at an Audi dealer .
Audi knows that that this is a reacurring issue and there are hundreds of mecatron malfunctioning around the world and I don't see no recalls.

the cost was a full replacement of the transmission S6 c7 , ZF DSG 7 speed.
Now it is a fact that ZF Friedrichshafen AG makes the worst unreliable transmissions for Audis and that's no surprise there is a Lawsuit Investigation into Audi Transmission Problems that affect models 2010-2014 Audi S4, 2010-2014 Audi S5, 2010-2014 Audi S6, 2010-2014 Audi S7, 2010-2014 Audi RS5
My car has only 75,000 km and i did the transmission service on 40,000km with Audi dealer and no one is showing any responsibility either Audi or VW.
One fact for sure, these cars are like new smartphones they have a targeted planned life span when it reaches the 4-5 year it is meant to snap and fail.
As a result, i need to change a new DSG MECHATRONIC UNIT, S TRONIC and of course a set of clutches new oil new filters and lots of labor hours and new oil.... unfortunately i have decided to replace the gear with a 2nd hand 11k on it and sell the car and go to a different brand.

The ZF Friedrichshafen 8HP transmission is an 8 speed transmission used in many Audi vehicles, including the RS7, but NOT the S6/S7. The ZF transmission is very reliable.

" the new 7-speed DCT was developed with BorgWarner solely for Audi, the auto maker says, and will be rolled out in several mid-range and sporty models throughout the year. "

"Audi Introduces New 7-Speed S tronic Transmission
19 March 2008
Audi is introducing a new seven-speed S tronic transmission. The new twin-clutch transmission, designed to work with longitudinally installed engines and the quattro all-wheel drive system, offers a 550 Nm torque capacity. Audi will introduce the new S tronic into multiple model lines in series production this year.
The new transmission, developed entirely by Audi, is intended for the mid-range model lines and has been designed to be both sporty while also being efficient."

unreliable transmission and i know for sure, that every Audi,2010-2014 Audi S4, 2010-2014 Audi S5, 2010-2014 Audi S6, 2010-2014 Audi S7, 2010-2014 Audi RS5 OWNER
with Dual Clutch always has that bad feeling that their transmission will not last a100k miles, and i was one of them.. never the less my driving habit was considered normal condition with low mileage and it didn't last 80k km.
and decided to dysfunction!
