Got the new wheels on finally

Finally got the Hartmann wheels on the car with the summer tires. Figuring we shouldn't get any more snow...hopefully :)

Ignore the dirt on the car, this was pre-wash. Cleaned the tires with Tuf Shine and put the Tuf Shine Clearcoat on them, looks great!

I really like the way they look on the Estoril. I don't understand why they couldn't make these wheels an option in the US.

I like 'em

Thanks! So do I. :)

Nice to finally not have them just sitting in the garage.

Do they make these wheels in 20"?

The Hartmann wheels only come in the 19's. Not sure if there are any other replica's that are 20's.

jascooper 03-31-2013 07:14 AM

I was considering those. ET 38? Did you use spacers?

No spacers and the wheel weights had to be placed right up against the spokes, they wouldn't clear the brakes in a normal position.

Love the wheels and the "open" look to show off the huge front rotors.

I would like to have a 20" set for summer use but the wife thinks they are too sporty for a A7/S7. I will get them for winter use and they will be on a lot longer than necessary.

Looks good! Can't wait to see you at a gtg sometime soon.

Are you selling your original set?

I love the wheel..obviously. The 19's dont look terribly smaller than the factory 20's. Here's a pic of my car with the factory 20's

I am keeping the original set for winter wheels. That way I can just swap the wheels every season.

I agree they don't look much smaller. The 21 inch on the S8 do look huge though!

DeerHunter 04-01-2013 06:48 PM

Did you perhaps weigh the combination, or know how much that wheel weighs?

Then i hope your set survives the tri-state roads
I already bent one of my stock 20 and completelly destroyed one winter wheel (20 as well)

I did not weigh them, but they certainly feel heavy. No weight savings that I can feel as they feel just as heavy as the stock.

One season down...hopefully many more to go. No damage this year, but the road are horrible. I also have the 19's which do give a little more cushion...

I'm amazed they cleared the front rotors. I installed the OEM 19" titanium 5-spokes that are ET43 and the edge of the rotors are flush with the center of the wheel. Thankfully, the rotors sit about an inch from center and the wheels are concave. It still is very tight.

It is tight. There isn't much clearance toward the center of the wheel and there is minimal clearance around the wheel as it rotates. Wheel weights in a normal position would have certainly not cleared the caliper. The rotor itself is cleared pretty easily, the caliper is the issue. When I spoke with the guy from Achtuning to order them they were test fitting a set on an S7, so they double checked they would clear before I finalized the order.

So you wouldnt say that these weighed much more than what stock were. What tires did you go with and what did you do for TPMS. Thanks and they look awesome by the way.

Thanks, I think they look awesome too.

Yes, I don't think the weight was much different. For summer tires I am using the stock Pirelli's. I can't justify the cost of buying new tires. Regarding TPMS it is through the ABS system, all electronic, nothing to do.

Do you still have these wheels? I currently have oem 20’s but I want to get 19’s to improve ride comfort. I want to get those exact same ones that you have. Do you have any other pictures from different angles? Also, are the wheel weights visible or are they behind the spokes? Thanks!

I do still have the wheels. They are on the car now with brand new Pilot Sport 4S's. I don't really have that many pics of them. The weights are behind the spokes for the most part. You should be able to have them put in a spot that isn't overly noticeable.

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it!
