I have reached my 200 limit and my car drives fine, almost all have been tuned launches

thats good to hear i was also told by a tech that after 200 it gets disabled and the only way to bypass is buying a new TCM

Programmed obsolescence or not, that should be a warranty replacement, then - if a material part required for operation of the car as it was delivered fails, you should get a new one. This car is advertised as having launch control - not 200 or 2000 launches, but "launch control".

Not sure. That's probably why the launch counter exists, it must be registering the value off the TCM ( iknow we can reset but it doesnt seem to affect the 200 count).

The tech told me he encountered it on an S4 and he was told it would need a replacement, no way to alter in the system. I'm sure someone will figure it out.

I would assume a dsg tune would fix this,

are tcm's specific to vin like ecu?

I need to fix this issue so I can go back to the track.

Wonder if the launch counter is stored in the TCM. I doubt it but I just don't know how replacing that would fix the problem.
Hopefully it is not locked to VIN because in addition to buying one, you would have to get all that to jive
