If this was directed at me, I think you're right just looked up the law and max allowed in NM is 20%. I knew my wife's tint was 10% less than what the law allowed I just went the wrong direction with my math

I decided to go with Formula 1 nano-ceramic tint. The installer was saying that the 35% is actually closer to 38%. I'll post a pic of it when I get home. I wonder if that whole ceramic thing makes a difference at all with making sure there is no interference with sat radio...

i believe this is taking into account the very light tint already in the glass, thats what my tint guy said last time anyway

i usually just tell them i want legal tint, as dark is as legally allowed (35% in ma)

You shouldn't have an issue as the satellite radio antenna is mounted on the roof. I believe only the AM/FM antennas are on the rear glass.
