I would rather use regular black Avery outdoor vinyl. You can cut the strips any width and if you spray a little soapy water down first, it will slide around so you can position it. You can also get the vinyl in a matte finish.

It doesn't affect the parking sensors. They're below the panels. I have a friend that used Black Elec. tape on the front of his TT RS. Been there a year and doing fine. The tape is PVC so it's pretty tough.

I'm wide open across Kansas right now, on my way to do Wolfepack88's grille in NJ. Got my tape, exacto knife and a sharp chisel in case they screwed in a license plate holder at the port. The sheet metal screws leave a raised "welt" that you have to remove.
I was going to use filler for the screw holes and then paint the grill panels but decided to try the tape first and it worked fine.
BTW, to answer a previous question. The panels are molded to the rest of the grille.
In Missouri now and a State Trooper's pulling me over. Probably going to ticket me for no front license plate

Is that a reelection of trees or does that car desperately need a bath?
Same question; what are those? And what are the lenses in the fog light openings doing? Night vision, cameras, cruise control?
I've ordered a roll of Shadowline trim. After I do the chrome, if there's some left, I may try it on the filler panels. It looks like cutting them out would be a butcher job.

Looks like the reflection of trees in the (relatively) clean paint.
I'm pretty sure the "dots" referenced by the arrows are parking sensors, but I'm willing to be proved wrong.
The lenses that look like fog lights are the radar domes for the Active Cruise Control.
