Is VCDS Lite enough for rear brake pad change?
Rear pads are due to be replaced and brakes are one of the only maintenance items I still enjoy doing myself.
Main Question: Looking to purchase a Vag Com adapter for my laptop, but not sure is VCDS lite has enough functionality for me to put the rear parking brake into repair mode or whatever so I can swap the pads out. Does anybody know which version I must get in order to do this?
Bonus questions:
1. The only other thing I might consider doing is setting the nav up to where my wife can watch movies on the screen while the vehicle is in motion. Bonus if you know which VCDS version I need for this.
2. Aside from the $50 hardware cost for obdeleven any idea how much the rear brake and nav movie watching coding would cost? I believe you pay a fee for each coding action based on a credit system.
Thanks in advance!

There's no 'VCDS lite' option, unless it's your acronym for OBD11. I have VCDS, but have read you can do the rear brakes with either one. However, you cannot do VOD on new cars with VCDS; only with OBD11 via a paid app (don't know how much). So looks like you need OBD11. I have a related question, which I'd appreciate answered when you're done with the brakes: can you activate the rear pad change and then turn off ignition and VCDS/OBD11, then hours or days later reverse it? I got confusing info on that. Somebody posted you couldn't turn off anything, which doesn't make sense, as it'd take at least an hour to do the job, especially with only 1 jack, like many of us would have to do. Thanks.
