Default 2013-2015 S7 vs 2016

Hello Everyone

I test drovea pre-owned 2015 S7 this weekend. I really like the car and want to move forward with purchasing one.

I have a couple of questions that requires forum help please. I'm trying to understand if buying a 2016 is better then buying a 2013-2015.
Below are the major changes that occurred for the 2016 refresh:

· The available quattro® permanent all-wheel drive sport differential on S7 has been upgraded with new software algorithms to help provide higher levels of responsiveness and even better agility. This is the one question I wanted to get some feed back on. Has anyone owned a 2015 and 2016? Differences in performance, etc?· The high-performance S7 produces 450 hp, up 30 hp from the previous version, and 406 lb. ft. of torque. An optional sport exhaust system includes black tailpipes.
Is this power upgrade noticeable?
· New suite of Audi connect® services include INRIX online traffic info, Apple Siri® Eyes Free integration and Web radio streaming. Thoughts?

If anyone has an opinion on why I should avoid a 2013-2015, I would like to hear it?

Thanks in Advance

Bill

Buy what makes you happy.
Personally, I don't weigh much value in the added '16 features you listed so I say go for the 2015.

It’s more about understanding if the updates had fixed flaws. Can someone offer an answer on of the AWD is Much better with the update?

I did a bit of research on 15 v 16 since I just was in the market for an S7 (and purchased a 16). I thought I knew all the differences but was not aware of the change to Quattro between the two. I have to imagine that's geared for the enthusiast pushing it on a track, since Quattro has always been well-regarded (since before the S7).

The performance different I did not lend much credence to because the 0-60 times were pretty much the same between the two years; maybe the 16 got heavier, but the extra 30hp doesn't change the stat sheet much.

The quality-of-life change is mostly with regard to the MMI, where the '16 had an upgraded CPU driving the MMI, making it much more responsive. In a lot of the personal user reviews, that was one item they touched on a lot - the slow MMI of MY13-15. I have to say, coming from an MDX with a slow interface, the 2016 S7 is responsive. Not "fast" but hardly delayed. As far as the new features you've mentioned, (traffic, web streaming), I've never tried to use those and wouldn't expect them to work without AudiConnect (to which I do not subscribe).

The headlamp upgrade may be minor for some, but I really love the headlights on the 16+, as well as the other facelift features.

No one really complained about reliability of 14-15 any more than they do about 16 (although I hear turbos were less reliable on 2013; although that could be more correlated to the age of those vehicles).

I tried to convince myself to get a 2015 and save ~$5-10k but couldn't do it. I thought the 2016 looked that much better. Whatever you choose - good luck!

That's a great answer. Thank you. I will go with where I can the best deal I'm not afraid to buy a 14. Audi's area cut above BWM and I don't worry about $5000 mechanical issues with the S7.
It's funny that people trade in their German brands at 100K (60K Miles) and the values are just gone!... As a honda owner I total know my Accord will reach 300K (220Miles) with little maintenance.
I think Audi is the best of breed for relaiablity in German cars and the S7 looks smokin hot! I can't wait to dive in and drive this beauty! Cheers
