There is not doubt that some of the more expensive and more desirable options will add value to the car; however, there is a point of diminishing returns. Those returns on the options that add to the overall value depreciate faster than the overall value of the car. This means that Bang'n Stereo might add $1000, or maybe $2000 to the overall value because its a desirable and expensive options, but that alcantara headline probably isn't going to add anything at all. The package groups do seem to add a bit but the same rules apply. Year and miles still trump everything else.

Now what it does do is make you're car easier to ask book for, because of the fact that is has everything, and you're going to get a more fair value on a trade if it has the most desirable options! It makes the car easier to sell or trade.
