Default 2014 Audi S7 replacement tires

I live in Florida but go north for a week or 2 in the winter. I have Pirelli P Zero 255/40/19 with 25,000 miles. tires neemd to be replaced.
Not sire if i should get the same tires. Been told that Michelin is better.
But they have Pilot Sports and Pilot Super Sports 255/40ZR19/XL-100y.
not sure the difference and if i should get high performance summer tires or all season

Pilot Sports is a UHP all season
Pilot Super Sports is a UHP summer tire.

If you're heading north in the winter, you don't want to do it on summer tires.

As you know, the Finger Lakes have been lucky with the amount of snow on the ground for the last two years. I didn't mount my snows this season. I have Conti DWS 06's and they work fine in a foot of snow. Enjoy the warmth next winter.

FWIW Consumer Reports April issue has tire ratings on page 19.

Default We lived on Dunlop SP9000 tires for two winters in DC/VA/MD

Not that there wasn't slipping and sliding but Dunlop rated the tires all season when the car was new then changed them to UHP Summer in 2003-04 or some such. Went to dedicated winter tires/wheels (2K4.2A6, C5 chassis) and no more problems.

You can get away with a lot with quattro. Except ice...hard summer tires are miserable.

May I ask what size Conti DWS06s you have? I just bought a 2015 S7, and I want to upgrade to 20s with these tires, but the dealer is telling me that the OEM stock size 265/35 20 doesn't support the vehicle weight for that brand. He recommends 275/35 20 for the conti DSW06. The rim size I'm looking at are 20x9.

I don't agree. I run Conti DWS 06's on my S7. 265/35/20 XL's purchased from my Audi dealer. Make sure they're labeled "Extra Load"

Enjoy the ride

Thanks, something didn't smell right with what he was telling me. However, the XL may have been the difference.

I have the Conti 275/35 ZR 20 XL

I got them from eBay/Tirebuyer 02/2016 for a little more than $1000 with tax and fees. It was a Presidents day sale and they were $200 less per set than the OEM size.

They are mounted on my OEM 20" sport wheels. Worked good all winter. Just recently took them off for the summer.

Ok, so I guess both options work. Thanks for the reply.
